Album #6

This was recorded at the same time as Hidden Camera Syndrome (released in March 2023) and stylistically also veers into ambient/drone territory continuing in the vein of the "Through a Crack of Light" album that came out on Werra Foxma's SubClub (2022).

Like Hidden Camera Syndrome, most tracks are based on sequences played live through 4 synths at once and tweaked in real time. Each synth went through some kind of reverb, delay and/or modulation effects and had it's own valve amp. The main synth was also DI-d. Room mics were also employed to get an overall room sound. All these options were then mixed together to try and create an immersive atmosphere.

In addition to these live basics, the tracks were then given sparse overdubs, mostly with tuned percussion, electric guitar, and field recordings, with only one track, "Maintain Your Trajectory", having significant edits, fuzz bass and beats added. Another track, "I Became Another Resistance" is a straight drone piece, the core drone provided by an amplified Hi-Fi demagnetiser CD, covered with bowed, open-string electric guitar.

An earlier version of "Cold City" was broadcast on the Dark Outside in late 2022.

The influence of Japanese ambient music such as Mkwaju Ensemble was even stronger on this album.
